Cats In Space to play live at Thekla on Friday 8th March 2019

70s Classic Rock throwback sensations Cats in Space will hit the decks of Bristol's Thekla on Friday 8th March 2019.

Cats in Space live at Thekla.

Since 2015 they've created something of a sonic storm with a sound redolent of yesteryear's penchant for soaring harmonies, ear-shattering guitars, epic pianos and massive catchy choruses.

A quick summary of their gigging credentials over the past few years is impressive enough: touring with the likes of Status Quo, Phil Collins, Thunder and Deep Purple at prestigious venues such as Hyde Park, Hammersmith Odeon and London O2 Arena.

Fans love them, reviews have been out of this world (appropriately enough for cats in space), and from humble beginnings they've carved out a stratospheric success story that the majority of bands can only dream of. Purrrrrfect in every way, then.

Two critically-acclaimed albums are already under their belt (2015's Too Many Gods and 2017's Scarecrow, the latter of which was voted in the top 10 of that year's Planet Rock album review), while their live albums Cats Alive! was released in 2018 to document the energy and electricity they create during their live performances.

Now the British 'power pop' rock band will strut their sonic stuff at the city's top music venue on a boat to unleash an old-school-style 70s-influenced catalogue of songs that will put a smile on your face and a delightfully retro-tinged spring in your step.

Doors open at 7pm. Tickets cost £20.35 (including booking fee) and can be purchased here. Thekla is located at The Grove, Bristol, BS1 4RB
