US pop-punk outfit The Wonder Years are bringing their soft vocals and upbeat melodies to Bristol this Friday 22nd February at the O2 Academy. They're currently touring the world to spread the word of their 6th album, Sister Cities, which is packed with 11 amazing tracks.

The Wonder Years' latest album, released in 2018.

From "Raining in Kyoto" to "The Ocean Grew Hands to Hold Me" Sister Cities is, according to lead singer Dan Campbell “a record about distance, or maybe how little the distance matters anymore,” hinting at the feeling of being in an international love story where time zones are no longer an obstacle.

The band went above and beyond with this theme with a pre-release scavenger hunt that iconically included unlabeled vinyl records with spoken-word poems in various languages. “I left pins on a map. I’m handing you the string,” the band tweeted. “Tie them together. Unite us...”.

On The Wonder Years official Twitter account the band had this to say about the tour: “This February we're heading back to the UK for a co-headlining tour with Mayday Parade. This is going to be our biggest tour there ever so to say we're excited is a massive understatement. ”.

And speaking of Mayday Parade... The pop-punk band from Tallahassee, Florida are no strangers to the music scene in the UK. Their debut EP 'Tales Told by Dead Friends' was released in 2006 and sold over 50,000 copies without any label support. In April 2018, the band signed with Rise Records and released their sixth studio album names 'Sunnyland' in June, same year. 'Sunnyland' is 49:16 minutes of slow atmospheric acoustic followed by the "in your face classic pop-punk, rock album".

Needless to say, we're very excited to see them on Friday.
