Lau at St George's Bristol on Thursday 21st February 2019

Scottish folk legends Lau will play St George's Bristol with a set comprising their first songs since 2015 when they perform at the venue on Thursday 21st February 2019.

Lau by Elly Lucas

Honing in on themes of forgiveness and togetherness, the group's new collection of tunes were written in Shetland and further explore their experimental approach, this time layered with more minimalistic techniques in song form.

The group has also continued to explore the fusion of acoustic and electronic sources with further entwining of music and song, a fresh folk perspective that adds new dimension to their arrangements and the genre as a whole.

Lau - named after an Orcadian word meaning "natural light" - will no doubt illuminate Bristol music lovers as they embrace the mystery and haunting lyricism of traditional Scottish tunes with their own distinctive brand of musicianship.

The gig kicks off at 8pm. Tickets cost £22, £20, £18 and £15 and can be purchased here.

St George's is located at Great George Street, Bristol, BS1 5RR.  Tel. 0845 40 24 001
