Decapitated at Thekla in Bristol on Monday 18th February 2019

Posted on: 14 Feb 2019

Mondays are usually, let's face it, pretty grim days after the fun and free time indulged by the weekend. But why not let off some steam with the mad, manic musical machinations of Polish death metal band Decapitated, who will be performing on Bristol's favourite boat-based venue, Thekla, on Monday 18th February 2019.

They've been thrashing out their distinctive brand of gnarling riffs, relentless tempos and ear-shattering songsmithery for the best part of 20 years. Their notch on the death metal leaderboard has long been secured and many of their albums are considered the most influential benchmarks of the genre.

It might have all started in Krosno in 1996 with a fervent fanbase on the underground music scene, but these titans of technical death metal have gone on to become one of the most influential and innovate groups on the scene.

Expect thrashing chords, scuzzy tunes and brutal sonic pyrotechnics that'll make the windows of Thekla rattle. Doors open at 7pm. Tickets cost £18 (including booking fee) and can be snapped up here. Have a listen to a typically brutal, ear-shattering track from their album Anticult here.

Thekla is located at The Grove, East Mud Dock, Bristol, BS1 4RB
