Mark Thomas Check-Up - Our NHS at 70 at Tobacco Factory Theatres from 6th to 8th February 2019

Posted on: 31 Jan 2019

Comedian Mark Thomas will peer through his own politically satirical microscope when he hits Tobacco Factory Theatres in Bristol from Wednesday 6th to Friday 8th February 2019 with his new show Check-Up: Our NHS at 70.

The show will draw on a series of interviews conducted with experts working for hospitals and surgeries within the NHS, and will look at his own eventual physical and mental decline as the basis to analyse  the state we're in.

Thomas himself is 54, the NHS 70, with a UK life expectancy national average of 84. With that maths in mind, when he's 84 the NHS will have hit its centenary. What both man and institution will look like by then is anyone's guess.

In Thomas' inimitable, whip-smart, firebrand fashion, this fierce, passionate, uncompromising self-proclaimed 'libertarian anarchist' brings his 2018 Edinburgh Fringe First Award-winning show to the city.

The UK's finest political provocateur kicks off from 8pm.  Tickets cost £17 (£13 concessions for unwaged, students and NHS employees) and can be purchased here.

Tobacco Factory Theatres is located at Raleigh Road, Bristol, BS3 1TF.  Tel. 0117 902 0344
