Music & Wine with Claire Northey String Quartet at Averys Wine Merchants on Friday 1st February 2019

Posted on: 29 Jan 2019

Fine wine and great music arguably go together just as blissfully as fine wine and great cheese, so with a slight tweak to tradition Averys Wine Merchants in Bristol will be hosting a Music & Wine Night on Friday 1st February 2019.

Claire Northey String Quartet will provide the musical backdrop of upbeat tuneage and cool, smooth soul standards, bringing vibes of the North African coast to Bristol's finest purveyor of grape-based libations.

World music, trip hop and looped vocals and beats influenced by Claire's theatre productions in Egypt, France and Moroco will play away as you sip contentedly on a specially curated selection of five heady, delicious wines.

A glass of fine fizz will be placed into your excitedly expectant mitts on arrival before you plop yourself down for a full-on sonic-and-slurp fest of fabulous wines picked by a wine enthusiast who will explain precisely why they've chosen them specifically to go with the music.

It doesn't matter whether you're a seasoned wine-glugging pro or a keen amateur with a well-trained palate for the good stuff, this is an event for wine buffs of all levels and another notch on the vino-appreciating post for the venue's ongoing evenings of wine appreciation and good times.

It all starts at 7pm and will run through until around 9pm. Tickets cost £30 and can be purchased here.

Averys Wine Merchants is located at Culver Street, Bristol, BS1 5LD.  Tel. 01173008333
