Damian Marley in Bristol

The youngest son of Bob Marley, Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley garnered his own place in music history when he became the first ever Reggae artist to win a Grammy outside of the “Reggae” category, taking home an award for “Best Urban/Alternative” performance for his title single, “Welcome To Jamrock”.

Once known as the “The Youngest Veteran” by his fellow artists, Marley is now an elder in the game who’s not afraid to speak his mind out of respect for the music and culture he loves—and for the divine spirit of humanity in all of us. The lyrically profound and largely self-produced 12th studio album released in 2018, Stony Hill maintains the element of hardness from “Jam-Rock” to “Stony,” and arrived at a moment when the rhythms of the Caribbean were and still are all over the pop charts—with mostly light-hearted lyrical content. The album won a Grammy award for Best Reggae Album at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards.

Marley is a 4 time Grammy winner, two of which were won on the same night, making him the only Jamaican reggae artist in history to do so. Since the age of 13, he has been heavily involved with music, and in the years that followed, has released many successful albums and collaborative projects. Most know Mr. Marley, Halfway Tree and Welcome to Jamrock as three of the most important reggae albums of all time. His collaborations with American Rapper Nas, feature on Welcome to Jamrock, and the pair afterwards went on to release an album together called Distant Relatives.

Don’t miss what is sure to be a sell-out show in Bristol! Tickets are officially on sale here.
