Motion reveal huge 24-hour lineup for In:Motion 2018 opening weekend

Posted on: 24 Jul 2018

It's that time of year again. Motion is pretty much universally regarded as Bristol's biggest and best club venue (and one of the best in the UK), and the In:Motion series that takes place from September-December every year always features some of the best dance music lineups on the calendar. Staying true to tradition, Motion have pulled out all the stops for the opening weekend of this year's In:Motion series with David Rodigan, Jackmaster, Midland, Floating Points and many more set to take the stages on Avon Street for 24 Hours of Dance on 28th and 29th September.

The huge lineup for Motion's In:Motion Opening Weekend 2018.

In what may well be the biggest In:Motion event to date, proceedings will get underway on Friday 28th September with a bass-heavy lineup that sees Bristol pioneer David Rodigan and accomplished party starter Redlight take care of the Main Room alongside DJ Zinc and AD, Kurupt FM's very own DJ Decoy, Mina, The Blast DJ collective and a very special guest who's yet to be announced.

Over on Friction's Connections Album Launch Stage, as well as a huge two-hour cameo from the man himself, expect mind-blowing sets from some of the biggest names in drum n bass, including Macky Gee, Turno and Pola & Bryson. You'll also want to keep your eyes and ears peeled for Uncle Dugs, who'll be on hand with an unmissable Jungle set on the night.

On to the following night, Saturday 29th September, and Motion have made sure to cater for Bristol's huge house & techno following by booking some of the hottest names on the scene to play between 3pm and 7am. The Main Room will see the all-conquering Jackmaster go back to back with the equally gifted Jasper James, the genre-spanning sounds of London-based Josey Rebelle, the Horse Meat Disco boys, Gideon and more.

The Marble Factory is also set to play host to an unforgettable night on the 29th, with a Floating Points DJ set, Joy Orbison, Midland and Wilson Phoenix making up an all-star cast that is certainly not to be ignored. Fast forward to the later hours and Jackmaster will be back for a solo appearance, with celebrated selector Willow, Amelie Lens, Blawan, Orpheu The Wizard, the Dekmantel Soundsystem trio and upcoming Bristol-based DJ Ellie Stokes making up the full roster.

If you've got the minerals for it, if you reckon you've got what it takes to blast through 24 hours of some of the UK's biggest and best underground dance music, then prove it - miss out on this year's In:Motion opening weekend at your own peril.

Tickets for In:Motion's 24 Hours of Dance Opening Weekend on Friday 28th & Saturday 29th September are on sale now and can be found here. For more information or to follow ticket updates, visit Motion's website or check out their Facebook page.
