Bristol Academy of Drama has enjoyed success with two recent shows in the city.

The Academy's own resident writer has once again put together some fantastic adaptations of existing fairytale stories, this time taking audience members around the world with Tales of the Forest - a collection of short stories from various different countries.

From Russia, 'Masha and the Bear' tells the story of a clever young girl who is kidnapped by a bear and must use all her cunning to escape. The Malaysian fairytale 'Sang Kancil Counts the Crocodiles' takes us to the jungle, where a hungry deer must brave a river full of crocodiles to get himself some breakfast.

Of course, no collection of fairytales would be complete without the famous story of 'The Brothers Grimm'. Also from Germany, 'The Hut in the Forest' tells of three sisters who, lost in the woods, each find shelter in a modest hut. But which sister will uncover the secret of the hut's mysterious occupants?

As well as the diverse collection of great fairytales, Tales of the Forest also includes an original piece set under the sea which the talented students of Bristol Grammar School (aged 7-12 years) have created and developed themselves in just one term - it's certainly not to be missed!

Tickets for Tales of the Forest on Saturday 7th June are on sale now and can be found via the Bristol Academy of Drama website here. Tickets are priced at just £8 for adults (16 and over) and £5 for children. Doors will open at 7.00pm on the night.
