Second round of bands for ArcTanGent Festival 2018

Second round of bands for ArcTanGent Festival 2018

Posted on: 03 Mar 2018

The second lot of bands making the rounds at ArcTanGent festival have been announced and the line-up is looking juicier than ever... Some amazing headliners join the already UK exclusive Giraffes? Giraffes! and ASIWYFA playing their new album in full.

As previously announced by the 'Thats Not Metal Podcast', theaward-winningg ArcTanGent Festival have today announced 17 new bands for the 3 days festival, set on Fernhill Farm, 16th-18th August 2018 including headliners Glassjaw & Shellac.

Glassjaw will be the Friday night headliners, and will be welcomed to the festival for the first time.  Very few bands have the critical acclaim that Glassjaw have since they formed in the early 90's. They recently released the excellent album 'Material Control' to a rapturous response. This will be a festival exclusive for 2018.  Beck from the band simply said "Shellac? Yes please." when asked if they were excited to headline. So that brings us nicely onto the next headliner.

Shellac should need no introduction. The trio, which includes legendary producer Steve Albini (Nirvana, PJ Harvey, Mogwai etc) will be yet another festival exclusive when they headline the Saturday night of ArcTanGent Festival.  "Since we’ve never been to the festival, I’m not sure what we could say about it other than that we’re looking forward to playing in Bristol. It’s nice there. Are there still a lot of road works going on?" Says Bob Weston from the band.  One of the most dynamic live bands around, their set will no doubt be one of most talked about in the festivals history.

“This feels like the biggest and best announcement we’ve ever done at ATG. Having Glassjaw and Shellac as main stage headliners will be amazing, but personally I’m also very excited about Pelican’s first visit to Fernhill Farm – it’s certainly long overdue.  I’d really urge people to check out our Spotify playlist. We put a huge amount of effort into curating a line up that has strength in depth from the top to the bottom – so go check out Telepathy. Check out Scalping. Check out Zeal & Ardor if you don’t know them. Check out them all!” says James Scarlett, organiser.

As James mentioned, the mighty Pelican will be at Fernhill Farm after almost 2 years away from the UK.  You won't want to miss this exclusive.

Other incredible artists added to the already stellar line up are outlined below:

La Dispute /  Arcane Roots / Alcest / Zeal & Ardor/
Black Peaks/  VENNART/  Delta Sleep / Telepathy / People Like Milk Products (Memory of Elephants & Chiyoda Ku Big Band) / Scalping / Wren / Jo Quail / VLMV / Vasquez
