On a winters night at The Fleece in Bristol it seemed everyone had work the next day, but were willing to brave the hangover to catch international reggae star Alborosie!

At 8pm, and a small crowd is already lined at the doors of the familiar concert venue; The Fleece has always been reggae friendly! Entering inside we could instantly feel the good vibes and the sold out crowd were treated to a great evenings entertainment.

Alborosie at The Fleece in Bristol

Alborosie is one of the most innovative and dynamic producers and performers that I’ve had the pleasure of watching live. He sounds exactly the same in real life as he does listening to him through my headphones. The crowd were clearly waiting in anticipation as they started setting the stage for he main act.

Alborosie bounced onto the stage, dreadlocks stroking the floor and his shaggy looks, playing one of his classics Herbalist which got the crowd instantly sucked in and singing along - you could feel the positive mellow vibes throughout the crowd as everyone was jamming the night away.

At the end everyone thought it was over and felt that there was something missing! You could see some people grouping together talking before everyone turned to the stage shouting Kingston Town, Kingston Town and then Alborosie come back to the stage to perform one more classic as his encore. This turned heads and was no doubt an awesome song to end the night.

In a time where many live music venues seem to be disappearing The Fleece offers intimate live performances from a wide range of high profile artists, with a friendly atmosphere, great sound system and at an affordable price.

Epic night and absolutely outstanding performance from Alborosie.
