WWII weekend at Kingswood Heritage Museum and Avon Valley Railway

Posted on: 23 Sep 2016

Kingswood Heritage Museum will complement the major 1940s event at Avon Valley Railway over the weekend of 24th and 25th September by expanding its World War II display. Children are invited to dress in the military uniform of the time with the opportunity to try some of the museum's very own selection of historical costumes!

To ensure we get to make the most of the weekend hte opening hours have been extended to 11.00am until 5pm on both days, with visitors also being able to view all the other popular museum attractions, including local schools and the corset making industry exhibitions. Warmley Signal Box will also be open on both days and the three local venues will again be linked by a free heritage bus service.

In addition, the Friends of the Museum will be holding a huge sale of second hand books and vinyl records on both days 11am to 4pm. Why not take a seat at the wonderful Windmill Tea Room - it will be open for refreshments 11am to 4.30pm.

Entry is just £3 and children under 12 are admitted free of charge.
