Where to go for National Pie Week in Bristol 5-9th March

Pie fanatics rejoice! Today marks the first day of British Pie Week, which runs until Friday. Who doesn’t love a good pie and mash with oodles of gravy? The heart-warming comfort food of a nation, it’s absolutely necessary to have one (or two) to celebrate the occasion this week.

 

If you’re wondering where to go, look no further! We have put together a list of the best places to eat pie in Bristol.

 

Pieminister

The Stokes Croft restaurant is where it all began for these pastry perfectionists. Making their pies fresh daily, customers can enjoy their classic pies like steak & ale as well as more adventurous pies such as the Saag-pie-neer and the Mexicow. They have a range of gluten free pies on offer as well as cocktails and craft beers.

 

Lovett Pies 

Proud suppliers of award-winning pies, hand crafted in the West Country, Lovett Pies supply far and wide around the Bristol and Bath area. Their shop is located at Wapping Wharf and customers can enjoy their full range of meat and veggie pies as well as speciality sweet pies also.

 

Clarks Pies 

Priding themselves on making the best local pies in the world, this Bedminster bakehouse make fresh pies and pasties every day. Made from quality and locally sourced ingredients, it’s no wonder that they have built up such a loyal customer base.

 

The Royal Oak 

This friendly pub in Horfield is home to a couple of classic, hearty pies. The perfect place for a pub lunch.

 

The Stable 

In celebration of Pie Week, The Stable are offering a free pie for you and a mate at lunch time. Head over to their website to sign up! They have a great selection of pies on offer as always, some which change seasonally.  

 

Pie Baby Pies

This pie pop-up is currently at The Golden Lion on Gloucester Road. They offer delicious vegan pies with a kiwi twist that are full of flavour. Their vegan macaroni and cheese pie sounds like something of dreams!

 

The Swan in Thornbury

If you are heading North of the city then drop in to The Swan located on High Street, Thornbury, BS35 2AE. For British Pie Week they are offering any Pie meal with a cask ale, cider, soft drink or standard lager for just £7.95.
