Where to celebrate Pancake Day 2020 in Bristol

Posted on: 21 Feb 2020

Pancake Day (or Shrove Tuesday) is nearly here! That's crêped up on us. It's happening on Tuesday 25 Feburary.

This year, don’t settle for those homemade pancakes that never quite go to plan, or worse, those soggy shop-bought crêpes. Instead, why not explore Bristol’s pancake offerings?

From a cafe with its very own laundrette to bottomless brunch options, there's loads of places in Bristol to get your Pancake Day off to a flipping good start.

The Prince Street Social, 37-41 Prince Street, BS1 4PS

Even though Pancake Day doesn’t fall on a weekend, why not make an exception for the Prince Street Social's bottomless weekend brunch?

Every weekend, the Prince Street Social offers up a gluttonous boozy brunch menu - pancakes included, of course.

But that's not all, at one of their Saturday Bottomless Brunches, you can help yourself to prosecco, Amstel or Thatchers for the duration of your brunch! That's a Pancake Day added bonus.

The Crêpe & Coffee Cabin, Prince Street, BS1 4QA

Ever walked past The Crêpe and Coffee Cabin on the Harbourside? We bet you have.

A tiny kiosk overlooking the water, find the Cabin on the Prince Street Bridge. Grab a coffee and a crêpe, and enjoy one of the best views in town.

Buttermilk & Maple, 5-7 Welsh Back, BS1 4SP

Situated on the Welsh Back waterfront, Buttermilk & Maple is a swanky café and restaurant prepped with some of Bristol’s tastiest brunchd dishes.

And of course, their signature, buttermilk pancakes are the real Pancake Day pinnacle.

Choose from a range of toppings, including mixed fruit and ice cream, nutella and smoked crispy bacon.

At The Well, 145 Cheltenham Road, Cotham, BS6 5RR

A long-time favourite on these ‘Best Pancake Places’ lists - but with excellent reason. At The Well isn’t just a place to grab a coffee or a bite to eat. No, it’s a launderette, too!

Sat in the heart of Stokes Croft, this fantastic eatery is definitely one of the coolest places in the city to enjoy your annual Pancake Day party.

Try out their increasingly sought-after Transatlantic Pancakes; American pancakes with scrambled eggs, buttery mushrooms, streaky bacon doused in maple syrup.

The White Harte, 54-58 Park Row, BS1 5LH

Looking to save some cash this Pancake Day? Visit the White Harte pub.

On Tuesday 25 Feburary, the White Harte will be offering pancakes for just 25p each! Then add toppings like nutella, syrup or bacon to make it your own.

Chez Marcel, 43 Broad Street, BS1 2EP

Looking for something proper traditional? The French owners of Chez Marcel make authentic crêpes & galettes like they do in Britanny.

In the mood for something savoury? Try out one of their buckwheat savoury crêpes (which also happen to be gluten-free).

Got a sweet tooth? Opt for a sweet crêpes, and play around with their choice of toppings. It's time to enjoy Pancake Day, French-style.

The Crafty Egg, 113 Stokes Croft, BS1 3RW

Yet another Stokes Croft gem is The Crafty Egg. Brunch is the name of their game, but they’ve got pancakes on offer, too!

So, if the Well is a little busy, you can easily enjoy your pancake celebration at this joint, with their array of fantastic additional toppings.

Boston Tea Party, various locations

With six Bristol branches, you can easily get your Pancake Day fix at Boston Tea Party.

Enjoy their American Pancakes, either with smoked bacon, maple syrup and maple butter or with blueberry compote, vanilla Greek yoghurt & maple butter. Yum.

The North Street Standard, 11-13 North Street, Bedminster, BS3 1EN

BS3 is home to some of Bristol's best foodie hotspots. So, it'd make sense to give the North Street Standard a Pancake Day-sized shoutout.

Why not try their blueberry pancakes this Shrove Tuesday?
