The Red Arrows to fly over Bristol this afternoon
Posted on: 16 Aug 2017The world-famous team of aerobatic aircraft will fly over Filton at 2.37pm this afternoon to mark a celebration of Concorde at the Aerospace Bristol museum.
The sky above Bristol will be just that bit more spectacular this afternoon, when it will be gilded by a flypast from the Red Arrows to mark an event at the Aerospace Bristol museum celebrating the engineering feats of Concorde.
The Red Arrows, guests of honour at any public event worthy of note, is the aerobatics display team of the Royal Air Force, a squadron of acrobatic aviators who pilot distinctive red planes. Their nimble manoeuvring and spectacular formations have rendered the company a British institution, and the name synonymous with quality spectacle.
They will treat Bristol to some of these this afternoon at roughly 2.37pm (though specific timing is subject to change), when they will fly over Filton as part of an event taking place in to commemorate the legacy of Concorde aircraft.
The event is occurring at Aerospace Bristol, the soon-to-open aerospace museum in Filton, which is home to the last ever Concorde plane to fly.
Ian Gray, the museum’s chairman, said: “Aerospace Bristol will celebrate the innovation and endeavor of those generations who went before us and inspire young people to consider careers in science and technology.
