The Ponds (Still Waters Run Deep) + Live Q&A @ Everyman Cinema Bristol on 28 February 2019

Posted on: 22 Feb 2019

Following a showing of the acclaimed new film, The Ponds (Still Waters Run Deep), Everyman Cinema Bristol will welcome its co-directors for a live Q&A event. Book your ticket for the event, happening Thursday 28 February at 18:00, here.

The Ponds (Still Waters Run Deep) is a unique documentary-style piece which follows the lives of London swimmers who retire to Hampstead Heath – an intercity outdoor swimming pool – to get away from the constant flux of metropolitan life.

To shed light on the documentary’s creation, co-directors Patrick McLennan and Samuel Smith will give a live Q&A session after the showing.

In a city characterised by hurried chaos, Hampstead Heath is a place of soothing ambience; 320 hectares of forest and parkland, alongside three swimming ponds. And its serenity is no secret to its regular pond users, who visit whatever the weather to gain respite from city life. The Ponds collates these experiences; from swimmer laughter to their complaints to curate an endearing cinematic experience.

Now described by The Guardian as a “touching portrait of pond life”, we’re even more excited to catch this one at Everyman Bristol!

You can grab a ticket here.  Adult tickets are priced at £14.10, and concessions at £12.10. There is an additional online booking fee of £1.85. Everyman Cinema, Bristol is located 44 Whiteladies Rd, Bristol BS8 2NH.
