The news comes following Bristol's move from Tier 3 to Tier 2 coronavirus restrictions.

The Burger Joint have announced plans to reopen their flagship Bedminster restaurant this weekend, as hospitality businesses across the city prepare for the return of customers under new Tier 2 rules.

From midday on Saturday 19 December, the popular burger spot will be back open for business, with a full range of safety measures in place to minimise risk to visitors and members of staff.

In a statement released online, the team said: "Finally we have some positive news to announce!

"Obviously it's a tricky time of year being so close to Christmas and there are extra restrictions which have been placed upon us as different households are forbidden from mixing inside. So we have decided to only open one restaurant to start with just to test the water and see how business goes.

"As before, we will have all the extra hygiene and social distancing measures in place to ensure your and our staffs safety. But we can guarantee you the full Burger Joint experience that you know and love."

The statement went on to confirm that The Burger Joint's legendary Christmas Burger - a grilled turkey escalope and pork, sage and bacon stuffing patty topped with melted brie, cranberry sauce and baconnaise - will be available throughout December.

Opened in 2009, The Burger Joint has become one of Bristol's best-loved spots for delicious, quality burgers, known for its unique Build-a-Burger ordering system.

Their extensive menu is packed full of decadent beef burgers, succulent chicken burgers and tasty veggie and vegan options, with an endless list of potential flavour combinations and a wide range of sides available.
