The BBC Proms return to Bristol from 7-9 August 2026

BBC Proms, the world’s greatest classical music festival, returns to Bristol for its third residency from Friday 7th through Sunday 9th August 2026 with performances at Beacon Hall, Lantern Hall and St George's Bristol.

At Bristol Beacon, five concerts include Paraorchestra and Charles Hazlewoodwith Steve Reich’s Music for 18 Musicians and Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra with conductor Adam Hickox performing Shostakovich’s Cello Concerto No. 1 and Rachmaninov’s Symphonic Dances.

BBC Radio 3’s 'Round Midnight brings a live jazz special celebrating legendary saxophonist John Coltrane and there's the Proms debut of the National Open Youth Orchestra in a Relaxed Prom featuring the world’s first clarion concerto and Charlotte Harding’s The Orchestra: A Young Person’s Guide.

Soprano Anu Komsi and violinist Sakari Oramo mark György Kurtág’s 100th year with Kafka Fragments, while at St George’s Bristol, Tenebrae performs the Proms premiere of Joby Talbot’s Path of Miracles with conductor Nigel Short.
