Summer Walk: Reading the Streets at Stokes Croft on Wednesday 8th August 2018

Posted on: 03 Aug 2018

Stokes Croft. It's an area in the city that is as divisive as it is diverse, that's for sure. So what better time to let Chris Chalkley, Founder of the People's Republic of Stokes Croft, shed his own illuminating perspective on one of Bristol's most controversial yet cultural and creative areas as part of his Summer Walk: Reading the Streets at Stokes Croft tour on Wednesday 8th August 2018.

Chris will look at the continuing visual debate and architecture of the area, a place in the city that is continually shifting and evolving; a vibrant, sprawling urban environment where voices, ideas, movements, posters, political expression, graffiti and other vivifying elements of its melting pot idealism vie for equal merit and attention.

The walk will guide you through certain parts of Stokes Croft, supported by Chris' intelligent, thought-provoking narrative set against the background of the area's distinctive visual vibrancy.

Free and running from 6pm to 7.30pm (starting off at People's Republic of Stoke's Croft HQ on Jamaica Street), you can find out more and book in advance here.

Stokes Croft is located in Bristol, BS1 3QY.
