St Werburghs City Farm in Bristol receives cash injection
Posted on: 02 Feb 2016St Werburghs City Farm in Bristol has received the great news that property charity LandAid will be investing £100,000 towards their Connection Centre project.
This generous grant from LandAid will part-fund the City Farm’s new Connection Centre that is due to open in the summer of 2016. The project is to build 3 fit-for-purpose classrooms, a training kitchen, a covered outdoor teaching space and accessible toilets allowing St Werburghs City Farm to expand its capacity and extend its services, supporting up to 2,500 children and young people per year.
Peter Kellett, the Chair of Trustees at St Werburghs City Farm said, “This investment will help secure the future of the City Farm, and is the result of over ten years of planning. It is a huge vote of confidence in the impact of the high quality services that the Farm provides. As well as welcoming over 55,000 family visitors annually, last year alone the Farm supported 3,225 vulnerable children and adults, equipping them with skills to lead healthier, happier lives and find employment."
St Werburghs City Farm has now received £417,000 in donations, and is currently raising a final £10,000 via online donations at - www.localgiving.com/swcityfarm - in order to open these new classrooms in June.
