The announcement follows the release of Sleeper’s explosive new single and album title track, End of the World, which introduces a new chapter for the band and for frontwoman Louise Wener as a songwriter. The album, released 12 February 2027, is a deeply personal collection of ten songs that combines Sleeper’s instinct for huge melodies and anthemic choruses with a newfound emotional directness.

“I’m really looking forward to taking this album out on the road,” says Louise Wener. “These new songs mean a lot to me, and I think they’re going to sound fantastic live. There’s something wonderful about finally playing them in a room with people and making that emotional connection with a crowd. We’re so excited that Turin Brakes are joining us - we’ve been fans for a long time, so it's going to be a special combination.”

Written and recorded between Paris and Manchester and produced by Joe Cross (The Courteeners, Hurts, Louis Tomlinson, The Slow Readers Club), End of the World moves through grief, regret, loneliness, heartbreak and renewal, ultimately becoming a record about finding the strength to let go and reclaim yourself.

Where 2019’s The Modern Age marked Sleeper’s return to the studio and a reconnection with their identity as a band, End of the World captures an artist discovering what she has to say now. Despite its emotional weight, the album is sonically bold and euphoric, with Wener’s trademark earworm hooks and anthemic choruses running throughout.

For the tour, Sleeper will be joined by Turin Brakes, the South London band founded by childhood friends Olly Knights and Gale Paridjanian. Their 10th studio album, Spacehopper, was released in 2025, adding to a catalogue that includes the Mercury Prize-nominated, Gold-certified The Optimist LP and 2003’s Top 5 album Ether Song, which featured the Top 5 single Pain Killer (Summer Rain). With seven Top 40 singles, six Top 40 albums and more than one million record sales worldwide, Turin Brakes remain one of the UK’s most enduring alternative bands.

The End of the World Tour will see two hugely respected British bands sharing the stage, with Sleeper performing songs from their new album alongside the classic tracks that established them as one of the defining guitar bands of the 1990s.

Sleeper emerged in the mid-90s, scoring eight Top 40 singles across three Top 10 albums and selling more than one million records. They toured to sell-out crowds across the UK, US and Japan, played the main stages at Reading and Glastonbury, toured with Blur and supported R.E.M. at Milton Keynes Bowl, as well as touring the US with Elvis Costello.

Fronted by Louise Wener, Sleeper became one of the defining British guitar bands of the 1990s before splitting in 1998. The band re-formed in 2017 and returned with The Modern Age in 2019, their first studio album in more than 20 years, which reached the UK Top 20 and was followed by sold-out UK tours and major festival appearances.

Now, with End of the World, Sleeper enter a new phase, one that promises to sound every bit as powerful in a room full of people as it does on record.
