Ruby Jazz at The White Horse Gastropub - Thursday 15 September

Posted on: 13 Sep 2016

Vocalist Ruth Brown and pianist Phil Blandford of Ruby Jazz bring you an eclectic mix of jazz tunes from the 20's to the 60's. Expect toe-tapping swing, mellow bossas and soulful ballads at The White Horse on Thursday 15 September 2016.

Located right in the very heart of Westbury-on-Trym village, The White Horse is a centuries old coaching inn that has established itself as a firm Bristol food and drink favourite. Exuding an atmosphere of easy-going and relaxed comfort, its roaring wood fire, tip-top condition real ales, locally roasted coffee, home-baked bread and sensational food guarantee an unforgettable experience.

On this occasion the food, nor the drink, will be the centre of attention - Jazz is the star of the show! Ruth Brown and Phil Blandford - Ruby Jazz - will entertain the assembled guests with a string of tunes spanning the great Jazz era from the 1920s to 1960s. Join them for a drink, meal, or just the ambience as they perform.

The White Horse ethos promises to use only the finest quality products and support local farmers, producers, wine merchants and suppliers. Chef Nigel Bissett has 17 years experience and has worked at the 5-Star St David's Hotel and Spa in Cardiff as well as working alongside celebrity chef Sean Hill at The Walnut Tree in Abergavenny and turning round the gastronomic fortunes of The Swan in Almondsbury.
