A cinematic and inspirational journey through night-time England, guided by dreams, disillusionment and redemption, Stars is the latest album from UK singer-songwriter Rob Jones & The Restless Dream. The record has already been featured on powerhouses BBC Wales, BBC Ulster and BBC Scotland, with more traction being gained by the day.
Recorded in Longsight, Manchester, with producer Mark Lewis (Lauren Housley, The Northern Cowboys), Stars brings together some of Manchester’s finest musicians alongside leading figures from the UK Americana scene, including CJ Hillman and Johnny Henderson. The result is a rich, evocative collection of songs that blends British storytelling with the expansive spirit of Americana.
Rob Jones, a former teacher who left the classroom to pursue music full-time has perfected the art of combining soaring choruses, rich instrumentation and a keen storyteller’s eye. Jones crafts songs that explore life’s twists, turns and hard-won moments of redemption. Rooted in classic songwriting traditions and narrative-led lyrics, his music draws comparisons to artists such as Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty, blending heartland rock influences with a distinctly British perspective.
After leaving a career in teaching, Rob focused fully on music, spending his early thirties writing songs about meaning, identity, and the pull between comfort and adventure. The result is Stars — an album that moves through long nights, false starts and brief moments of hope, set against summer nights, city lights and half-remembered memories.
