Renowned critic Mark Kermode brings brand-new stage show to Bristol's St George's Hall on Monday 1st October
Posted on: 29 Sep 2018Renowned and popular film critic Mark Kermode will take to the stage of St George's Bristol for a nostalgic look back at his crazy but unremittingly persistent attempts to become a pop star on Monday 1st October 2018.
The gig - held to promote the release of the movie maestro's latest book, How Does It Feel? - will see him recount his tales of early youth as North London kid, making his own electric guitar and ending up recording an album at the legendary Sun Studios in Memphis.
Hysterical and typically self-deprecating, Mark will track his wayward and somewhat chaotic 'other' career as a musician in a whole slew of bands, from 1970s church hall gigs and youth clubs to a live performance at the mighty Albert Hall. He also had a crack at musical theatre and stand-up comedy along the way.
Now, of course, he's a firmly established and well-respected film critic, and his evening at St George's is sure to be as insightful, heartfelt, amusing, honest, perceptive and articulate as the movies he casts his critical eye over.
