Redgrave announces NT Live screenings - starting with multi-award winner

Posted on: 27 Jun 2024

From September, the Redgrave Theatre are having a series of National Theatre Live performances – starting with West End hit Prima Facie.

National Theatre Live is the initiative that brings the National Theatre across the UK & the world – via the magic of a professionally shot live performance of National Theatre’s best; and from September, Bristol’s Redgrave Theatre are having a season of NT Live performances. Starting the season strong on September 17, Redgrave will present Prima Facie – Suzie Miller’s sold-out bona-fide West End hit – as a NT Live screening, recorded at an acclaimed West End theatre.

Tessa (Jodie Comer) is a young, brilliant barrister. She has worked her way up from working class origins to be at the top of her game; defending; cross examining and winning. An unexpected event forces her to confront the lines where the patriarchal power of the law, burden of proof and morals diverge.

Starring Killing Eve’s Jodie Comer in her West End debut, the show has received rave reviews, earning Comer both Olivier and Tony Awards for her performance. It’s the return of the gripping one-woman play to cinemas, and not to be missed: Prima Facie takes us to the heart of where emotion and experience collide with the rules of the game.

Directed by multi-award winning director Justin Martin (The Lovers, Stranger Things: The First Shadow), this solo tour de force was captured live in 2022 during a sold out run at the historic, nearly 150-year-old Harold Pinter Theatre in London’s West End.

Prima Facie runs from September 17 to September 18 at the Redgrave Theatre – to get your tickets, head to their website.
