Posted on: 11 Sep 2018Odd but enthralling sci-fi flick Under The Skin will be screened as part of Trinity Centre's Outdoor Cinema season on Sunday 16th September 2018.
Projected in Trinity Garden and curated as part of this year's Fairy Tales For Troubled Times theme, this part road movie, part science fiction is a peculiar but mesmerizing film based on Michael Faber's novel.
The story follows a beautiful woman of unknown origin trawling the streets of Scotland in search of random men, who she seduces and lures into her otherworldly lair to disappear forever from human existence.
Starring Scarlett Johansson in an unexpectedly offbeat and weird role choice, directed with a detached eeriness by Jonathan Glazer and featuring an effective ambient score by Mica Levi, this world-view-through-alien-eyes is an unsettling, bewildering, sensual, peculiar cinematic curio that's affecting, discomforting and wholly original.
It all kicks off at 7 pm and gives you the chance to grab a drink, some food and possibly a dance before the film itself starts at 8 pm. Under The Skin is rated 15 for infrequent strong sex and frequent nudity.
