My Baby to play one of three U.K. tour dates at Bristol’s SWX
Posted on: 17 Oct 2019It's difficult to define with certainty the genre of My Baby's sound.
From blues-inspired vocals to ancient folk; from roots-driven dance sound to 70's funk, MY BABY effortlessly fuse different genres in their ever-growing discovery.
Want to see how they do it? They're playing at SWX, Bristol on Saturday 7 December 2019. Grab a ticket here.
The Dutch-New Zealand was formed in 2012, made up of brother and sister Joost van Dijck (drums) and Cato van Dijck (vocals), alongside Daniel' Dafreez' Johnston (guitars).
Since their formation, the band have stormed the international festival circuit, playing the likes of Glastonbury, Sziget and Lowlands.
But it's no surprise: armed with funk-infused, dance-driven setlists (with a touch of EDM thrown into the mix), MY BABY have no problem getting a crowd dancing.
They've even been nominated twice for the NPO Radio 6 Soul & Jazz Awards in the 'Best Live Act' category!
In their 7-year career, the band have released a whopping four studio albums, each building on their eclectic mix of global inspirations.
And so, to celebrate the release of the band's first live album, they're heading off on a European tour – but beware, they've only got three U.K. dates! Luckily, they're stopping off in Bristol.
