Multiple warnings issued over blue 'Tesla' pills circulating in Bristol
Posted on: 02 Aug 2021Blue 'Tesla' ecstasy pills have been linked to a number of recent hospitalisations.
A number of Bristol venues, promoters and health organisations have issued warnings over a batch of "extremely strong" ecstasy pills circulating across the city and nationwide.
The blue 'Tesla' pills are understood to be particularly high-strength, and are known to be responsible for more than 20 hospitalisations in Bristol alone in recent weeks.
Avon Street venue Motion, as well as representatives of Bristol City Council, Avon & Somerset Police and the Bristol Drugs Project, have issued their own warnings to club-goers in response.
In a message posted across their social media channels, the Motion team said "we are aware of some extra strength pills in Bristol. Please be careful wherever you go this weekend - please stay safe and look after each other."
Posting on Twitter, Bristol City Council warned of a "potentially lethal" batch of drugs circulating in the city.
"We've all waited a long time for the weekends to return, don't make it your last. Please follow the advice of health experts and don't put yourself at risk," they said.
After such a long period of closure for nightlife venues and events across Bristol and beyond, harm reduction organisations are recommending that club-goers take extra care with any substances this summer.
CAUTION advised this weekend, after multiple hospitalisations & a fatality last weekend, all suspected MDMA overdoses, all in Bristol area.
