Long Ashton Golf Club - Home of Champions

Posted on: 11 May 2016

Long Ashton Golf Club is located on the outskirts of Bristol, just three miles from the City Centre. It was founded in 1893 and is one of the best golf clubs in Bristol.

The 18 hole course is open all year round after a huge amount of work to ensure that both the greens and fairways are free-draining, meaning golf is available for 12 months and not the usual 6 as in lots of other clubs.

You will find a friendly and welcoming atmosphere at Long Ashton Golf Club and membership packages are currently available as well as a number of open competitions for those of a more competitive nature.

"I've been a member at Long Ashton since I was 10 years old and it is a very friendly club. I always look forward to playing the course as it presents a different challenge every time you go out." Chris Wood, Qatar Masters Champion

Sunday 8 May 2016 saw the juniors competing for glory in under 14, under 15 and under 16 age-group titles. It was players from Long Ashton Golf Club who dominated on the day, taking all three titles between them. Will Lewis (age 13) took the u14 and u15 titles and even took club mate Nathan Moore (age 16) to a playoff in the u16 race. Nathan denied Will a clean sweep though as he won the first playoff hole and claimed the title. Both shot gross scored of 73 - just two over par.
