German Bierfest Hits Bristol

Posted on: 12 Apr 2016

The wait is finally over as Bristol’s first Bierfest hits just in time to kick off the early start to the summer you’ve been craving. Held at Millennium Square from 5th – 8th May, this event will not disappoint and promises to entertain all of Bristol.

Visitors will immerse themselves in the vintage setting of German Village life. Original products will be served, from hot delicious wurst to luscious sweets and unique souvenirs. Along with this there is a Bier and Sekt Garden where visitors can enjoy a cold German beer or an opportunity to taste the famous Sekt, (or German sparkling wine) in the relaxing ambiance of a Bristol summers day. A fun fair area won’t be far away with various games such as Hau den Lukas, more familiar bull-riding and shooting hut.

For those looking for more of a party atmosphere, look no further than the Fest Tent. A German band will be on hand to entertain you all night, along with three types of beer; namely Bavarian Wessbier, Festbier and Craftbier which, in keeping with tradition, the brew master has come up with a distinctive taste for the Bierfest. This atmosphere is completed as you sit next to each other on traditional long German tables. Savoury German delicacies such as Schnitzel, Brezel, Hendl are also available in the Fest Tent. There is a limited capacity of 1200 seats so it is advised you book tickets online in advance.

Bristol German Bierfest entrance is free in the German Village. Regarding the Fest Tent, it is free entrance on Thursday and Sunday and £5 on busy Friday and Saturday. Children are welcome in the German Village and only on Sunday in the Fest Tent. The age limit for the Fest Tent on other days except Sunday is 18+.
