Downend Round Table Chairman, Steve Lansdale said
"I am truly humbled by the backing of the community for this event, not only the clubs and partners that assist us but the fireworks fans who turn out despite the typical British condition to support what has become the most popular display in the region. It’s fantastic how much we have managed to raise for local good causes. Jessie May Trust, our flagship charity this year are thrilled. I would like to thank Mama Bears Day Nursery and Wessex Motors for their sponsorship of the event along with 365Bristol and BBC Radio Bristol our media partners as well Fishponds Rotary, Downend and Keynsham 41 Clubs, Guides, Scouts and Resound who all braved the elements."
Helen Mackie from Jessie May Trust added
"Wow – what an amazing event!! I am still grinning about it, we haven’t stopped talking about the evening yet in the office! I also wanted to say a huge thank you for the opportunity you gave Jessie May, as a small local charity we have never had such an opportunity to talk in front of such a big audience."
The next big event on the Downend Round Table agenda is their annual Santa Sleigh visiting children throughout South Gloucestershire on Saturday 5th December 2015.
