Having been named Label of the Year at Gilles Peterson's Worldwide Awards last year, On The Corner's journey continues westwards as they prepare to take over The Crofters Rights for an upbeat Friday night affair.
Champions of off-the-griz jazz and a huge range of Eastern, Latin and African sounds through their On The Corner Records imprint, their Wednesday night Worldwide FM residency is their chance to show the class what they've found.
Live music will be supplied on the night by electronic Afro-Cuban four-piece Penya, whose wanderings in Cuba, Tukey, Morocco, India, Peru and Tanzania have all contributed to their tribal, alternative dancefloor take on Afro-Latin rhythms. OTC label boss Pete Buckenham will be on DJ and hosting duties all night alongside them, dropping a typically diverse range of disco, afro, house and jazz until the early hours of Saturday morning.
