Dine 100 feet in the air suspended above Bristol
Posted on: 24 Nov 2016Yes, you read that correctly! In 2017 you will have the opportunity to dine in the sky. After huge success in London it’s time to take the unique opportunity to Bristol.
After the first event was held in 2014 the whole concept has gone from strength to strength and garnered a huge following. In 2017, Events in the Sky will ‘tour’ this remarkable experience around 5 cities in the UK including Glasgow, Newcastle, London and Southampton…and our very own Bristol. It will take place at the Waterfront Square, between Lloyds Amphitheatre and Millennium Square on the Harbourside.
Whilst this is clearly centred around the physical aspect of ‘dining in the sky’, it’s by no means simply a gimmick - the food will be as exquisite as the views. Bristol’s own restaurants will transfer their menus to the unique dining venue, with full details of the contributors to be announced in February 2017. From there, you and 21 other guests will be fastened securely in to your seats and hoisted 100 feet upwards. Joining you will be a head chef, sommelier and full waiting team.
The restaurant will run from the 7th to 10th September 2017. With 9 sittings per day, guests have the choice of breakfast (£50), lunch (£125), dinner (£150), afternoon drinks (£75) and evening drinks (£75). Purchase tickets here!
The full restaurant line-up for Bristol in the Sky will be announced in February 2017. One of the restaurants you can look forward to will be the Harvey Nichols Restaurant with executive chef Louise McCrimmon who has won a host of top honours over the years, including Chef of the Year in the Bristol Good Food Awards and two coveted AA Rosettes. Each restaurant will serve a menu of signature dishes during the four-day festival.
Dale Agar of Events in the Sky says of the event: “With the success of London in the Sky, we’re looking forward to visiting Bristol in 2017 to recreate this converted event partnering with Bristol’s best chefs and restaurants. Guests will enjoy a breathtaking dining experience with spectacular views of Bristol Harbour.”
