Come Alt Jam at The Old England Pub in Bristol on Friday 6 January 2017

A brand new platform for Bristol's musicians to come together, improvise and create spur-of-the-moment sonic magic is being launched at The Old England Pub on Friday 6 January 2016.

Come Alt Jam is a weekly forum which will give the city's musicians the unique chance to come together, improvise and jam and simply see what happens. It's not an open mic night, rather the opportunity for people to collaborate and spontaneously create new styles and sounds, with the emphasis on creative freedom of expression and pure improvisational fun.

Musicians of all abilities and genres are welcome, whether you're into electronic, acoustic or laptop-based sounds, or MCs or singers. It's set to be one of the most refreshing and innovative music nights of its kind, promising intriguing and inspiringly unexpected musical alchemy.

The Old England Pub in Montpelier is a proper, local child and pet-friendly community boozer which is always buzzing with a vibrant atmosphere and boasts a fine selection of excellently kept cask ales. For the city's budding Stephen Hendry's there are pool tables where you can practise chalking your cues and potting your pinks, whilst every Thursday there is an Open Mic/Stand Up Comedy night which kicks off at 9pm.
