Posted on: 26 Feb 2016

Colston’s School in Bristol are delighted to announce the appointment of Mr David Edwards as the new Head of Lower School. He will succeed Stuart Smart in September 2016 and continue the proud tradition of Colston's.

Headmaster Jeremy McCullough welcomed the news and spoke highly of Mr Edwards who joins Colston’s in September after 8 very successful years as Head of Warminster Prep School in Wiltshire; most recently leading the school to an ISI report that rated the school as ‘excellent’ in all 9 areas. David coaches rugby, hockey and cricket as well as being a former Head of Geography, PE and Art.

Speaking of his appointment, David said, “My family and I are truly thrilled to be joining such a prestigious school with a wonderful history of supporting and educating children. During the interview process we were drawn by the warmth of our welcome, the politeness of the pupils and the energy of the school. We are delighted that our children (Saskia currently Year 6 and Bobby Year 2) will now join this successful and happy pupil body and look forward to bringing our experience and expertise to the Lower School from September”.

Arrangements will be made over the coming months for parents of current pupils to meet David on one of his many visits to the school between now and September as he receives a full and complete handover from Mr Smart.
