Colston Hall gears up for Christmas: here’s what to expect

Posted on: 22 Nov 2019

Just because Colston Hall is getting a makeover doesn’t mean its world-class schedule has stopped. In fact, the concert hall’s schedule is, as ever, very busy.

So, this Christmas, you can certainly gear up for the festive season with Colston Hall.

From festive makers’ markets to carol concerts, to gig tickets you’d be silly not to gift, here’s a rundown of highlights from 2019’s Colston Hall Christmas itinerary.

Enjoy Christmas entertainment across Bristol, in partnership with Colston Hall

What’s the festive season without a Christmas carol concert?

In the coming weeks, Bristol has the chance to enjoy a vast array of seasonal sound across the city; from the Salvation Army’s Christmas service to Sheelanagig’s folk-fuelled Christmas party at Fiddlers.

On Saturday 7 December, join foot-stomping folk artists Sheelanagig at Fiddlers for their Christmas party. Mike Harding (from BBC Radio 2) described it as “a completely top night out.”

A week later, enjoy the Salvation Army’s (Bristol Easton Corps) Christmas Service at St Michael’s Church in Stoke Gifford. Expect carols, readings and music in a breathtaking setting.

Later in the month, catch Bristol Choral Society’s annual Christmas concert at Redmaid’s High School, and Bristol Plays Music’s array of festive concerts.
