Chivas Burns Night Dinner at The Milk Thistle on Friday 25th January 2019

Posted on: 18 Jan 2019

Burns Night in the hands of one of the swankiest bars in the city on the actual night of the great poet's birth for a three-course whiskey dinner? Oh, go on then. The venue in question? Bristol's The Milk Thistle on Colston Avenue. Date and time? Friday 25th January starting at 7.30pm.

Proclaiming itself as a place for the discerning drinker, this cool, trendy prohibition bar is the sister joint of similar speakeasy Hyde & Co, spread out over four floors in one of the city's most historic buildings and combining a lounge, cocktail bar and private function rooms.

Remembering the life and rhymes of famed Scottish poet Robert Burns, The Milk Thistle's take on proceedings will celebrate with its usual blend of fun and hedonism. Chivas Master Finalist 2018 and the venue's very own Alex Godfrey will oversee the evening which will start with a palate-titillating, specially created Chivas whisky cocktail. That will be followed by a Scottish-style three-course feast, accompanied along the way by a range of the very best Chivas whiskeys, ably assisted by the finely-tuned, expert palate of Alex himself.

Now we've got you interested, the menu will include seared Scottish scallops, apple, fried ham hock terrine; followed by charcoal roasted sirloin of beef, haggis, neeps & tatties, greens, whisky gravy; and an unctuous finale of sticky ginger pudding with whisky and raisin ice cream.

Tickets for this very special Burns blowout costs £45 per person and can be purchased here.
