Bristol's Aardman Studios make their return to the big screen this January with the release of Early Man
Posted on: 09 Jan 2018Beloved Bristol-based creators Aardman Studios, responsible for animated classics such as Chicken Run, Shaun the Sheep and the Wallace and Gromit series, are making a triumphant return to cinemas in 2018 with the release of Early Man on Friday 26th January.
Set at the dawn of time, Early Man tells the tale of plucky caveman Dug in his quest to unite his Stone Age tribe against the might of the oncoming Bronze Age in a battle to beat them at their own game. Helped by his trusty sidekick Hognob, see Dug come up against the evil Lord Nooth in the fight to protect his tribe's way of life!
With veteran director Nick Park at the helm once more, Early Man features a cast full to the brim with British talent, including Eddie Redmayne (The Theory of Everything, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them), Tom Hiddleston (The Avengers, Kong: Skull Island), Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones), Timothy Spall (Harry Potter Series, The King's Speech) and many more.
Aardman Studios made a name for themselves in the late 1980s and early 90s with the first releases of the now-adored Wallace and Gromit series. Their use of stop-motion clay animation has earned the team four Academy Awards and five BAFTAs over the years, cementing Aardman as one of the most successful animation studios of all time, and earning them a rightful place among Britain's cultural icons.
