Bristol Pride 2016 on Saturday 9th July

Posted on: 08 Jul 2016

The multi award winning Bristol Pride returns this weekend and will be looking to improve on last years vote as the UK’s second “Best Pride Festival”. It is already the largest free Pride in the UK and features over 100 artists and performers with even more exciting events planned for Pride Day this Saturday 9th July.

The Bristol Pride Hub, open until 7pm at The Phoenix, (opposite Cabot next to Future inn) is where to go to exchange your wristbands and avoid the inevitable queues on the day. If you need to buy one or have a chat about what's going on that's all good too!

This amazing and atmospheric festival incorporates everyone throughout the city. A celebration of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community in Bristol through the day with an after-party at The O2 at night, along with The Phoenix as The Pride Hub, this is a truly amazing event that you won’t want to miss!

**Still need accommodation - Go To Homestay Bristol**

If you have been unlucky enough to miss the various different performances during the week fear not! You can start your weekend off with a bang and head to Watershed this Friday 8th July, 8:40pm, to see 54, the director’s cut.

Be sure to get a Pride Supporter wristband to help keep Pride going and access fantastic discounts such as money off the bars and FREE bus travel with First Bus.

From here on it’s the climax of the festival, with Pride Day taking center stage on Saturday 9th July.

Starting with The Pride march from Castle Park at 10am, the LGBT communities’ bold statement for equality is FREE and open to everyone!

Following this we on to the festival with both main stage performers and a cabaret stage.

With the likes of Lisa Stansfield, Little Boots, Lucy Spraggan and A*M*E lighting up the main stage and your favorite queens Miss Demeanor, Miss Tina Sparkle, Bambi Violet and many others just beside you at the cabaret stage, all based in Lloyds Amphitheatre and starting from 12pm, what more could you ask.

With the day at an end, the night really livens up; bringing you three rooms of music and performance featuring top international and local DJs, live acts, performance and dancers. This takes place at Bristol O2 Academy, Frogmore Street, 10pm.

This unique event brings together Bristol club nights for one night only along with specially curated performance and some of the biggest names on the club scene for an eye opening experience.

Join the ILLUMINATION and glow with Pride. Dress code recommendation: UV/ Neon / LED Lights / Shimmer Shine

All the money from the event goes to Pride to keep Pride a free event for everyone.

We would have to recommend re-fueling at The Volunteer Tavern during the day, due to their kitchen take-over with Kansai Kitchen, which is perfect for keeping the energy levels up to party.
