Bristol Oktoberfest For The People - Until Sunday 9th October 2016

Posted on: 30 Sep 2016

Authentic beer imported directly from Germany will be flowing at Redcliffe Wharf until Sunday 9th October 2016 at this free Bristol event. Sausages, snacks and live music will ensure a great time is had by all.

Located on the banks of the water, Oktoberfest for the People is the brainchild of Bierhaus – a local online German beer (and more) supplier. These guys really know their stuff! All the beers are imported directly from Germany, not simply brewed in the UK and labelled as German; this is the real-deal. The beer will be served from Hop on the Beer Bus's craft beer bus - a 1950's classic especially adapted for the Traditional Munich Beer Festival occasion! There will also be other drinks available such as cider, prosecco, and various soft drinks.

2016 also marks the 500 year anniversary of the Reinheitsgebot – the Bavarian Purity Law – which ensures that all beers must only contain 4 ingredients: water, hops, barley and yeast. It’s a law that ensures all beers are brewed to a high standard right across the board.

Entry is completely free so anyone and everyone is welcome to come down and soak up the atmosphere. There will be plenty of entertainment too, with some excellent live music filling the air as you sit back and enjoy the celebration of German culture. Acts include Lee Mccrory, Mike Allen and Green Man Phil.

Naturally, there will be a competition for ‘best dressed’ – on Saturday 1st – so break out the lederhosen or throw on your dirndl and get involved! Prizes include free steins and meals, plus the adulation of your fellow festival-goers of course!

Running until Sunday October 9th, free tickets are available to book online here. It isn’t a requirement that you pre-book but if and when the venue fills up then preference will be given to those with a ticket.
