Bristol artist Banksy unveils new artwork

Posted on: 08 May 2017

The latest work from Bristol’s most notorious street artist, which was revealed over the weekend near the ferry terminal in Dover, references Britain’s exit from the EU.

Banksy has consistently been amongst the most gregariously political artists to have made graffiti, with social changes and injustices regularly the subject of his stencils.

His latest piece is very much of this mould. Spotted on the side of a building by the A20 in Dover over the weekend, the mural depicts a workman chiselling away a star in the EU flag – an overt reference to Brexit.

Though his Walled-Off Hotel made reference to the political landscape which has developed recently, this piece is thought to be Banksy’s first overt comment on Brexit.
