Bristol Airport Record Year
Posted on: 14 Jan 2014Passenger numbers for Bristol airport totalled 6.1 million in 2013, a 3.4% increase on 2012 numbers, the fourth year in a row that they have risen.
This is the first time since 2008 and only the second ever time that the annual total has exceeded 6 million passengers.
The busiest month of 2013 was August when over 700,000 passengers used Bristol airport.
What with construction of new facilities underway, transport improvements to the airport from across the region and new routes confirmed as well as a long-term deal with Easy Jet, 2014 is expected to continue last year’s growth and could be the busiest year in the airport’s history.
New routes have recently been announced to Shannon by Aer Lingus and to Stockholm by SAS. It’s also rumoured that Turkish Airlines will soon be deploying its 737s into Bristol thus opening up Turkey, Africa and Asia to Bristol Passengers.
The future looks bright for Bristol Airport!
