Aardman unveil trailer for new Bristol-made film

Anticipation for Nick Park’s next feature film has been growing ever since the cinema doors swung shut on screenings of Wallace and Gromit and The Curse of The Were-Rabbit. And the creator of the dynamic duo has fanned the flames of expectation by releasing a teaser trailer for Early Man, the new Aardman flick that has been filming in their Aztec West studio.
More details have been announced about the glittering cast which will give voice to the plasticine reimagining of pre-historic Pangaea, with Richard Ayoade and Timothy Spall added to the previously-revealed likes of Eddie Redmayne, Maisie Williams, Tom Hiddleston and Johnny Vegas.
The film will depict the adventures of protagonist Dug (voiced by Redmayne) and the trials he faces posed by Hiddleston’s evil Lord Nooth.
Speaking about the trailer, creator Nick Park said: “Today we get to meet Dug’s tribe, a loveable bunch of misfits voiced by some exceptional British talent. They’re essentially a group of inept cavemen and women, including Treebor, played by Richard Ayoade, a gentle giant scared of his own shadow; Magma, Treebor’s no-nonsense mother voiced by Selena Griffiths and Mark Williams as Barry, whose best friend is a rock. Chief Bobnar, voiced by the brilliant Timothy Spall, leads the pack as their long-suffering leader and father figure to his tribe of idiotic brutes.”
Early Man is slated to hit cinemas on January 26th, 2018.
