24H OUR CITY: The People of The Croft at The Space on Friday 11th to Friday 18th May 2018

Posted on: 10 May 2018

A special event celebrating Stokes Croft will take place at The Space in Bristol from Friday 11th to Friday 18th May 2018.

24H OUR CITY has been devised by photographer Claudio Ahlers and installation artist Sarah Middleton, offering a unique snapshot of a day in the life of one of the most creative, vibrant and diverse (as well as contentious) areas of Bristol.

Images will be taken of the area's usual esoteric blend of residents, artists, tourists, activists, professionals and homeless people and projected in real time in the PRSC (People's Republic of Stokes Croft) gallery.

Special sets celebrating the area will also be put on by local poets, performance artists and musicians. Visitors can have their photograph taken to be included in the selection of images in the gallery as well as being able to take away fine art prints an merchandise to support the fantastic work The Space does for the local community.

Running from 10am to 6pm daily, 24H OUR CITY gives everyone the chance to connect to the people of Stokes Croft, take a brief respite from the chaos of contemporary urban life, and engage with the stories, memories, people and dynamism of the area.
