More About The Soul Destroyers
——————————————–
More of a tribe than a band, the mighty Soul Destroyers have been playing their mix of cheese tinged, horn-driven soul since Adam was a lad – the line up has come and gone, some have drifted into the sunset, and some have (genuinely), during their reign as “Best Party Band in Bristol” (Bristol Evening Post/Venue Magazine), been born, grown up and then joined the band!

A 13 piece line up, with 6 awesome horns, 3 singers and a rock-solid rhythm section it is an unnatural phenomenon of truly awe-inspiring musical power.

So yes it’s sort of soul covers from all the usual suspects (Motown, Stax, Atlantic) but don’t be surprised if you end up at some very unexpected musical destinations – ever noticed how bits of soul classics end up in some unusual contemporary tracks? … well they have and they aren’t afraid to take you there!

But don’t take our word for it have a watch/listen here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KzL2DVCXtxc

More About The Charites You Are Supporting
—————————————————————-

Aid Box Community (ABC) is a Bristol-based humanitarian organisation set up by group of ordinary people in response to the continuing refugee crisis. We come from all walks of life, and all have different jobs and interests. But we’ve come together to pool our time, energy, skills and whatever money we can give for a cause that we simply couldn’t ignore. With the backing of four fabulous trustees, we’re getting things done.

The Aid Box Community Hub is where we collect, sort and deliver life-saving aid to send to displaced people in France and where we run a ‘Free Shop’ where destitute asylum seekers and refugees here in Bristol can access free goods such as toiletries, basic household items, clothes and food. https://www.aidboxcommunity.co.uk/

Temwa exists to end poverty and transform futures in remote communities. Currently, we work in isolated villages in northern Malawi, itself the third poorest country in the world. The communities face huge challenges including poor water and sanitation, a lack of basic services (health and education) and limited access to markets; two in five people live on less than £1 a day. We know that these challenges are linked and reinforce each other, so we run programmes with the community that will address the multiple and complex causes of poverty, not just the symptoms. We equip communities with the skills to transform their own futures, and in so doing we work ourselves out of a job. https://temwa.org/

Tree Aid has been working in remote and isolated communities in Africa since 1987. Here, the environment is declining and people are living in poverty. They have little food, money or opportunity to improve their lives.

We have internationally-recognised expertise in preventing deforestation and promoting sustainable development. We help communities to plant and protect trees to grow their way out of poverty and protect their environment, for now and for future generations.

The trees they grow help to create more stable local environments. This reduces the risk of flooding and drought and breaks the cycle of poverty and hunger.

We work with partners at all levels, from village to government, to make sure the voice of the poorest is at the centre of forestry policy.

We have helped more than 1.2 million people plant more than 16 million trees. https://www.treeaid.org.uk/
