Consistently rated among the world’s best club venues and regarded as a pillar of UK club culture, Motion stands head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to Bristol nightlife. Sat in a sparse industrial estate, the 4,000-capacity venue has thrived on Avon Street for the past decade.

Inside, the club is an industrious matrix of old warehouse space. Almost deliberately sparse and dark, Motion lets its bookings do the talking. Armed with top equipment and immersive staging capabilities, the venue has hosted some of the world’s most exciting artists over the years. Events are packed; DJ sets are intense and high energy, but Bristol wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s the ultimate club to experience the city's unwavering love of electronic sound and pioneering promoters.

But it’s not just an indoor club. A year-round experience, the Motion complex boasts not only expansive dancefloors but a huge courtyard and a sun-glazed, riverside terrace, which is used for the club’s ever-popular summertime parties and all-day events. These summer events come thick and fast through July and August, so keep an eye out – they’re pretty special.

Motion is an industry leader when it comes to clubs, but it’s sister venue, The Marble Factory, secures the project serious kudos when it comes to live music. Located in the very same complex, The Marble Factory opened just a few years ago. But in that time, it’s attracted some of the best live acts Bristol has seen in a long, long time.

The fully decked out, 1600-capacity space delivers cutting-edge lineups, from sought-after names in contemporary jazz to cult-status bands. Complete with a 360-degree mezzanine and L-Acoustics sound system, The Marble Factory enables live music fans to see with their favourite artists in a new light.

So, who’s played here? The Chemical Brothers opened the venue back in 2017, and since, it’s welcomed the likes of King Krule, Flying Lotus and Pussy Riot. Check out The Marble Factory's upcoming gigs and listings here.
