Having sold out 4 consecutive nights at London’s Jazz Cafe, and performing locally at Simple Things Festival and Colston Hall, London Astrobeat Orchestra arrive at The Lanes for a rescheduled show on Saturday 23rd November 2019.
LSO reinvent timeless albums from Talking Heads & The Police with expert musicians from West Africa & Europe. The end product is totally funky, rhythmic, hypnotic, anthemic, uplifting, groovy, percussive covers of iconic songs from two of the most popular bands of the 70s and 80s.
LSO are:
- Legendary band leader & Bassist 'Edd Bateman' hosting rhythmic influences from Senegal, Guinea Conakry, Mali, Cameroon and Congo.
- Lingala singer and soukous aristocrat ‘King Fire’
- Blues rock and astropheric soundscaping guitarist and Vocalist ‘Julian Burdock’,
- Guinean Master Griot Kora player ‘Mosi Conde’
- Mbalax rhythm machine 'Badou N'Diaye'.
