Historic community arts and live music venue located in BS2.

A decades-old music venue and community arts space, the Trinity Centre has been at the heart of all things community and culture in Bristol for the best part of forty years. Located on Trinity Road in BS2, the venue is a key component of the local area and a genuine community hub, operated as a non-profit by a dedicated team of staff and volunteers.

From its stained-glass windows to its raised ceilings, spacious wooden dancefloor and real community vibe, the Trinity Centre has all the makings of a proper Bristol venue.

The story of the Trinity Centre is one of character, heritage and deep cultural significance - since becoming a deconsecrated church in the late 70s, the venue has become a vital hub for music in Bristol as well as a space for the local community.

Initially, when the building was taken over in 1977, the Trinity Centre was about skills development for young people in the area. But, under the management of promoter Roy de Freitas and the African-Caribbean Community Association, it became much more than that.

From the early days of reggae, punk and ska in the late 70s and early 80s to the emergence of dance music in the 90s and the fierce DIY attitude of today's Bristol-based musicians, the Trinity Centre has nurtured countless musical and cultural movements over the years.

World-renowned acts like Gorillaz, Public Enemy and New Order are among the star-studded list of musicians to have played the Trinity Centre. Today, the venue is still positioned right at the forefront of British music, having invited the likes of Alfa Mist, Nubiyan Twist and the Ezra Collective to play in recent years.

Live music and club nights are only one part of the Trinity Centre's offering, however, and the venue plays an important role in supporting the local community and maintaining a programme of projects, groups and volunteering schemes to engage people in the area and provide opportunities for people to get involved in a range of artistic and creative activities.
