Rave on Avon Weekender is coming to you live during lockdown

Posted on: 07 May 2020

Organisers have put together a one-off live stream event after Rave on Avon 2020 was postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Originally due to take place in Old Market for the first time this year following three successful years based in Stokes Croft, Rave on Avon recently became one of several popular Bristol festivals to postpone due to coronavirus.

The multi-venue, multi-genre festival was set to welcome another huge lineup of local and international DJs to a fresh crop of venues in BS2 in May, but organisers have been forced to put the full festival's Old Market debut on hold until 2021.

With a Rave on Avon-shaped hole in this month's event calendar, though, something had to fill the void. Cue the Rave on Avon Weekender, coming to you live on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 May.

Teaming up with respected local crews like Eminent and 1020 Radio, the Rave on Avon Weekender will be broadcasting sets from a selection of artists who were due to play this year's festival.

Like the festival itself, the Weekender will be showcasing the array of talented DJs based in Bristol, with some esteemed special guests thrown into the mix for good measure.

The Rave on Avon Weekender is fully partnered with 1020 Radio, with the station set to broadcast the event in its entirety.

Expect stellar sets and boundary-pushing sounds from across the electronic music spectrum, with DJs spinning everything from house and techno to garage, drum & bass, jungle, bassline, hardcore and more.

"We're hoping to give you a slice of the Bristol music scene that we're all missing so much," the Rave on Avon team said on their social media posts unveiling the event.

Head to their Facebook page to follow news and updates. Join the party on Saturday 16 May and Sunday 17 May.
