Spicer and Cole open fourth branch at Bristol's Finzels ReachPosted on: 11 Feb 2019
Popular cafe chain Spicer & Cole has celebrated the opening of its fourth Bristol venue in style - and punters were lining up for its delicious assortment of fine beverages and excellent food when it swung open its doors recently.
Occupying part of the Premier Inn hotel on the corner of the Counterslip and Old Temple Street, it represents a first for co-owners Carla and Chris Swift who have previously taken over existing spaces rather than working their coffee and culinary magic in an entirely new build.
Fans of its previous incarnations on Princess Victoria Street in Clifton Village, Queen Square Avenue and Gloucester Road will be reassured to see all the familiar decor and furnishings. enhanced by plenty of greenery, a smattering of magazines and a view of Temple Church's unmistakable leaning spire.
Purveyors of fine coffees Extract (based in St Werburgh's) already provide their tasty house blend but have also added the choice of filter coffee for this new establishment, while other espressos and roasts are available to sip to accompany, if you fancy, one of their full English brekkies, tortillas, salads or sandwiches.
As many regulars to the centre will know, the sights and buildings of Finzels Reach change at such a fiercely exponential rate you could practically go home on a Monday night and find a new venue of some description up and running and pulling in the punters on Tuesday morning.
Oh yes, things are changing here for the city's cool and groovy cats, so much so that beer legends Left Handed Giant and Casamia will be opening a brand spanking new brewery/brewpub and development kitchen respectively later in the year.
Spicer & Cole, then, has picked another top location for its newest venture. Their motto is 'Eat. Drink. Meet. Think'. And we think it's only a matter of time before they add a further feather to their cap with yet another Bristol-based food and drink emporium for their rapidly expanding empire.
Spicer & Cole is located at Finzels Reach, Counterslip, Bristol, BS1 6BX. For more information visit Spicer and Cole's website or get in touch with the team on 0117 930 4218.
